Consumer health data policy
Effective October 22, 2026.
This policy explains how Lizzergy handles consumer health data, as required by laws such as Washington’s My Health My Data Act and Nevada’s consumer health data law. It adds to our Privacy Policy.
The health data we collect
- Allergens and sensitivity levels for each profile.
- Custom allergens and the ingredient words you add for them.
- Emergency notes, such as “carries epinephrine.”
- Scan results, which show whether a food matched a profile’s allergens.
- Your confirmations of allergy statements for a profile.
Together with a profile’s name, birth date and photo, this can reveal health conditions of you or your family.
Where it comes from
From you, when you create or edit a profile or scan a food, and from people who share a profile with you.
How we use it
- To check food labels against the profiles you choose.
- To show profiles to the people you share them with, and notify them when a shared profile changes.
- To keep Lizzergy secure and handle safety reports.
We collect and use health data only with your consent, which the app asks for before you add any. We never sell it, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models.
Who we share it with
- People you choose to share a profile with.
- Our hosting provider, which stores it for us under a contract that limits its use. Photos and backups are encrypted.
- Authorities, only when the law requires it.
We do not share health data with advertisers, data brokers, or the companies that deliver notifications or process payments. Notifications never include names or allergy details.
Your rights
- Know and access: in the app, Settings, then Download my data, gives you all of it.
- Delete: delete a profile, or your whole account in Settings.
- Withdraw consent: delete the profiles or your account. We stop using the data right away.
- Ask who we shared it with: email us and we will list the third parties and affiliates that received it.
Email privacy@lizzergy.com from your account’s address for any of these. We answer within 45 days. If we decline, you can appeal by replying to our answer, and we will respond within 45 days. If you are still unhappy, you can contact your state attorney general.
No geofencing
We do not collect your location or set up virtual boundaries around health care facilities.
